Softball Recap: Jefferson Forest Cavaliers vs. Amherst County Lancers
After flying high against Liberty Christian on Friday, Jefferson Forest came back down to earth. The Cavaliers fell 6-1 to the Amherst County Lancers on Tuesday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lancers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-7 back in April.

Kimber Spence spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ashleigh Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. Emma Apperson also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
