Softball Recap: Highlands Takes a Loss

Highlands lost against Bullitt East back in April of 2016, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Bluebirds fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 8-7. The Bluebirds have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Payton Brown was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs.

Highlands' defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-1. As for Bullitt East, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-1.

Looking ahead, Highlands will venture away from home to challenge Boyd County at 11:15 a.m. on Thursday. As for Bullitt East, they will take on Russell at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Red Devils have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25 runs per game on average), something the Chargers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
