Volleyball Recap: Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Takes a Loss

If Hawthorne Math & Science Academy was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Lawndale last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Hawthorne Math & Science Academy Aviators fell just short of the Laguna Blanca Owls by a score of 2-1 on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Aviators of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Hawthorne Math & Science Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Laguna Blanca, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Coincidentally, Hawthorne Math & Science Academy and Laguna Blanca will both be playing Torrance the next time they take the court. Hawthorne Math & Science Academy will head out to face Torrance at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while Laguna Blanca will play them later in the day, at 1:00 p.m.
