Basketball Recap: Stargate School Comes Up Short

If Stargate School was feeling good fresh off their 60-40 takedown of The Academy two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eagles took a blow against the Prospect Ridge Academy Miners on Wednesday, falling 59-25. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of Aldo Enriquez and Jeremy Hartemink, who each put up five points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Prospect Ridge Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jack Brandt, who posted 12 points along with seven boards and four steals. Brandt has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Josiah Bote was another key player, putting up eight points and five rebounds.

Stargate School has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-6.

Stargate School didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 72-55 defeat against Peak to Peak on the 26th. As for Prospect Ridge Academy, they have also already played their next contest, an 84-78 victory against Bennett on the 27th.
