Softball Game Preview: Philo Electrics vs. Morgan Raiders

The Philo Electrics will take on the Morgan Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Philo has given up an average of 7.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Saturday, Philo didn't have quite enough to beat Athens and fell 15-14.

Morgan came out on top against New Lexington on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Raiders took their contest against the Panthers 5-2. The win continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.

Laney Kangas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Allia Rush was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Another player making a difference was Blair Clawson, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Philo now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Morgan, their victory bumped their record up to 7-5.
