Football Recap: Jefferson Starts Season with Victory at Home

Jefferson took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They took down the Marist War Eagles 19-0. For the Dragons, this counts as revenge for the 23-7 victory the War Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

A big part of Jefferson's win came down to the chemistry between Colton Grant and his top target Logan Edmunds. Grant rushed for 45 yards and one TD while Edmunds picked up 55 receiving yards and one touchdown. The dominant performance also gave Grant a new career-high in passing yards (76).

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jefferson will challenge Jackson County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marist, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Woodward Academy at 7:30 p.m. on the 29th.
