Football Game Preview: Proctor Academy Hornets vs. Hamden Hall Country Day Hornets

Proctor Academy will square off against Hamden Hall Country Day at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Proctor Academy's offense hasn't had much luck over their past four contests, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

The home team had won the previous four meetings between Proctor Academy and New Hampton School, and New Hampton School kept the tradition alive. The Hornets were outmatched by the Huskies and fell 41-0.

Meanwhile, Hamden Hall Country Day scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 45-22 to Rivers.

Proctor Academy will have to keep a close watch on Austin Burgouin and Logan Rapuano, a pair of players who had a big impact on Hamden Hall Country Day's prior game. Burgouin rushed for 119 yards and one score on only 13 carries, while Rapuano picked up 92 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Proctor Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hamden Hall Country Day, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.

Proctor Academy and Hamden Hall Country Day were almost perfectly matched up in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, but Proctor Academy suffered an agonizing 20-19 defeat. Thankfully for Proctor Academy, Charly Gulbin (who threw for 200 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 68 yards on only nine carries) won't be suiting up this time.
