Volleyball Recap: Smoky Valley Comes Up Short

Smoky Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southeast of Saline Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Smoky Valley sadly wound up on the wrong side. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 21-25, 25-19.

Smoky Valley's loss dropped their record down to 12-23. As for Southeast of Saline, with the win, they broke their three-match losing streak and moved their record to 10-22.

Southeast of Saline didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Ellsworth on the 14th. Hopefully Smoky Valley paid attention to the Trojans' match: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Trojans on Monday.
