Baseball Recap: Babcock Takes a Loss

While it was Babcock who put the first points on the board on Friday, it was First Baptist Academy who put up more. The Babcock Trailblazers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the First Baptist Academy Lions. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Paxton Cooper was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Canon Trombetti was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Babcock's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for First Baptist Academy, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Babcock will take on Sarasota Military Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for First Baptist Academy, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-1 victory against The Village School of Naples on the 17th.
