Mount St. Mary Academy has gone a perfect 8-0 against Mount Mercy Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Thunder will head out to square off against the Magic at 4:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Mount St. Mary Academy and five for Mount Mercy Academy.

Molly Reynolds was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Mount Mercy Academy came up short against Nardin Academy on Monday and fell 7-2.

Mount Mercy Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Taylor Jahn, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Mount St. Mary Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Mount Mercy Academy, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Tuesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Mount St. Mary Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Mount Mercy Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Mount St. Mary Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Mount Mercy Academy in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, winning 7-2. Do the Thunder have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Magic turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
