Volleyball Recap: Robert C. Byrd Eagles vs. Princeton Tigers
Robert C. Byrd was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell just short of the Princeton Tigers by a score of 2-1. Robert C. Byrd's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sarina Squires, who had 12 digs. Squires is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in the last four games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Maddie McGill, who had three kills, three blocks, and two aces.
Robert C. Byrd's defeat dropped their record down to 16-16. As for Princeton, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 3-16-2 record.
Robert C. Byrd is on the road again on Thursday to play Ritchie County at 6:00 p.m. As for Princeton, they will welcome Hurricane at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Princeton is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
