Basketball Recap: Maclay Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Maclay can now relate to. They took a blow against the University Christian Christians on Wednesday, falling 89-56. While losing is never fun, the Marauders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while the Christians are ranked 35th).

University Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Henry Arthur, who went 9-for-12 en route to 24 points and eight boards. Those 24 points gave Arthur a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Adalbert Allotey, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Maclay's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for University Christian, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 20-8.

Maclay does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for University Christian, they will face off against Providence School at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. University Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.8 points per game this season.
