Softball Game Preview: Bandera BULLDOGS vs. Davenport Wolves

Bandera is 1-8 against Davenport since March of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The BULLDOGS will take on the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Bandera has given up an average of 13.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Bandera is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 17th straight game on Friday. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 15-0 to Navarro, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Bandera saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Wells, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Davenport got the win against Canyon Lake on Friday by a conclusive 12-2. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Teagan Massey tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, KINLEY Keller was a standout: she scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Kennedy, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Davenport has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Bandera, their loss dropped their record down to 3-19.

Bandera suffered a grim 16-0 defeat to Davenport when the teams last played two weeks ago. Can the BULLDOGS avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
