Soccer Recap: Riverbend Comes Up Short

If Riverbend was riding high fresh off their 9-1 takedown of King George on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bears fell just short of the Mountain View Wildcats by a score of 2-1 on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Riverbend can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 97th, while Mountain View are ranked sixth).

Riverbend's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6-1. As for Mountain View, the win keeps they at an undefeated 9-0-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverbend will square off against Orange County at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Mountain View, they will face off against Colonial Forge at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
