Basketball Recap: Maple Valley Takes a Loss

Maple Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 53-21 loss at the hands of the Quincy Orioles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lions this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-12 last Saturday.

Ines Sanchez Feito and Aubree Roth certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Sanchez Feito almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine boards, while Roth posted five points. Sanchez Feito is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Maple Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-14. As for Quincy, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Maple Valley will host Springport at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Quincy, they will challenge Bronson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Bronson sitting on eight straight wins and Quincy on three.
