Soccer Game Preview: Matanzas vs. Taylor

The Matanzas Pirates will challenge the Taylor Wildcats at 7:20 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Taylor heads into halftime all tied up, they better play a good second half: that's when Matanzas took over last week. The Pirates walked away with a 3-1 victory over Bolles on Friday.

Meanwhile, Taylor narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Gainesville 3-2. That's two games straight that Taylor have won by just one goal.

Matanzas has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3-1 record this season. As for Taylor, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 3-4.

Matanzas took their win against Taylor in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wildcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
