Softball Recap: Robbinsville Has No Trouble Against Hiwassee Dam

Robbinsville had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Hiwassee Dam on Friday. Robbinsville blew past Hiwassee Dam 10-0. The Black Knights haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Naomi Taylor was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Robbinsville let Daphne Barlow and Sophie Roberts run wild. Barlow scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Roberts scored two runs while going 2-for-2. That's the most runs Roberts has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Atwell, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Robbinsville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hiwassee Dam only posted a batting average of .167.

Robbinsville's record is now 7-2. As for Hiwassee Dam, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Robbinsville is set to challenge their familiar foe Murphy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Robbinsville 2, Murphy 4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Hiwassee Dam will square off against rival Cherokee at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
