Basketball Game Preview: Columbus Sailors vs. Union Knights

The Columbus Sailors will challenge the Union Knights at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row dating back to last season, Columbus turned things around against Cedar Valley Christian on Tuesday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 79-11 victory over the Huskies. The Sailors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Union can finally bid farewell to their 14-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Tuesday. They took down East Marshall 51-34.

Columbus' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-6. As for Union, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

Everything came up roses for Columbus against Union in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-29 win. Will Columbus repeat their success, or does Union have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
