Recap: Silver Creek Raiders vs. Branham Bruins
If The Silver Creek Raiders were feeling good off their 28-7 takedown of the Gilroy Mustangs last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Silver Creek took a 35-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Branham on Friday. Silver Creek lost against Branham in their previous head to head back in September of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 43-29 score last time.
Silver Creek's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gabriel Lim, who rushed for 136 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Lim was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 56 yards. Another player making a difference was Austin Price, who picked up 23 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Branham was led to victory by Jack Lewis and Elias Antillon. Lewis threw for 248 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.4% of his passes, while Antillon gained 193 total yards and three touchdowns. Antillon hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for three straight games. Branham also got help from Preston Conrad who showed off his sure hands for 87 receiving yards.
Silver Creek's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Branham, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silver Creek will face off against Independence at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Branham, they will head out on the road to face off against Pioneer at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
