Basketball Recap: Stonington Triumphs

There's no place like home for Stonington, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They escaped with a win on Saturday against the Windham RVT Mighty Tigers by the margin of a single free throw, 58-57. The score was all tied up 31-31 at the break, but the Bears were the better team in the second half.

Windham RVT lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Brady Marsh, who posted 25 points. Marsh's evening made it 13 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Colby Dunnack, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards.

The victory snapped Stonington's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 3-5 record. As for Windham RVT, their loss ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-2.

Stonington has already played their next contest (against Griswold), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Windham RVT wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 76-52 win against Terryville on the 22nd.
