Basketball Recap: Dutch Fork Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

If Irmo wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Dutch Fork, they should've done a better job of containing Samajae Govan. The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes enjoyed a cozy 60-44 win over the Irmo Yellow Jackets on Friday thanks in part to Govan, who went 5 for 11 on his way to 21 points along with five rebounds and four steals. Those 21 points gave him a new career-high.

Despite the loss, Irmo saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Tanner McCray posted 11 points. Those 11 points set a new season-high mark for McCray. Kaleb Copeland was another key player, putting up four points.

Dutch Fork is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Irmo, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.

Dutch Fork will head out to challenge River Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with River Bluff sitting on nine straight victories and Dutch Fork on four. As for Irmo, they will square off against Chapin at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
