Fort Calhoun gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They blew past the Arlington Eagles 3-0. The Pioneers haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

While Fort Calhoun won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-20, 25-23.

Fort Calhoun found their leader in sophomore Claire Pearson, who had 20 digs and three assists.

Despite the loss, Arlington still got an impressive performance from Mylee Hadan, who had 15 digs and two aces.

Looking ahead, Fort Calhoun will challenge Winnebago at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Arlington, they have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Raymond Central on the 30th.
