Boylan Catholic had lost three straight at home, but on Friday they dropped their record down to 8-10 to make it four. They came up short against the Harlem Huskies, falling 14-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Huskies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 back in April.

Boylan Catholic saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Acuna, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Elizabeth Mroz was another, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

As for Harlem, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

On Harlem's side, Rylie Adams was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. Adams has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Addie Henderson and Adriah Sholl did most of the damage at the plate: Henderson went 3-for-5 with one home run and two RBI, while Sholl went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Henderson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Burbach, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, Harlem will face off against rival Belvidere North at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Huskies 3.4, the Blue Thunder 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
