Volleyball Recap: Lonoke Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Lonoke can now relate to. They came up short against the Brookland Bearcats on Monday, falling 3-0. If the Jackrabbits were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Bearcats when the teams met back in August of 2021, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-5, 25-15.

Brookland was led to victory by Ashlyn Ussery and Lexie Schuermann. Ussery had nine aces, while Schuermann had eight digs and two aces. Those nine aces gave Ussery a new career-high.

Lonoke's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Brookland, their win ended a three-match drought at home and bumped them up to 18-13-1.

Lonoke does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brookland, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Wynne on the 21st.
