Volleyball Recap: Gilmour Academy Has No Trouble Against Ursuline Academy

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Ursula Academy, Gilmour Academy was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Ursuline Academy Lions as they made off with a 3-0 win. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Lancers yet this season.

Gilmour Academy never let Ursuline Academy on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 27-25, 25-18.

Ava Anders paced Gilmour Academy's offense, picking up 12 kills. Anders got some help from Mira Siebert and her 43 assists.

Despite the defeat, Ursuline Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kelsey Green had 13 assists and six digs. Green is crushing it when it comes to assists: she's posted at least 13 every time she's taken the court this season.

Gilmour Academy now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Ursuline Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Looking ahead, Gilmour Academy will take on St. Joseph Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ursuline Academy, they will challenge Mount Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
