Basketball Game Preview: Chino Valley Cougars vs. Tonopah Valley Phoenix

The Chino Valley Cougars will venture away from home to take on the Tonopah Valley Phoenix at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Tuesday, Chino Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-38 to Wickenburg.

Meanwhile, Tonopah Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 38-34 heartbreaker at the hands of Apache Junction. One positive for the Phoenix, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Tonopah Valley's loss dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Chino Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-11.

Chino Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Tonopah Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2014, but they still walked away with a 37-32 win. Will Chino Valley repeat their success, or does Tonopah Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
