Football Recap: Brandon Takes a Loss

Brandon extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 1-7. They were beaten by the Jesuit Tigers 57-7. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 467th, while the Tigers are ranked 20th).

As for Jesuit, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.6 points over those games.

Jesuit's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Will Griffin led the charge by throwing for 208 yards and four TDs on perfect 12-for-12 passing. The dominant performance also gave Griffin a new career-high in passer rating (177.1). Hezekiah Davis helped Griffin out on the ground, rushing for 27 yards and a pair of scores, while also picking up 39 receiving yards and one touchdown.
