Football Recap: Boyertown Snags Third Victory in Last Four Games

Perkiomen Valley came into Friday's matchup looking for another win against Boyertown, but Tilman Henley wouldn't allow it. The Bears snuck past the Vikings with a 20-16 victory on Friday for which the team can thank Henley, who rushed for 159 yards and two TDs on only 15 carries, and also threw for 33 yards and one touchdown. His longest rush was for an impressive 63 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Perkiomen Valley's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aiden Messatzzia, who threw for 343 yards and a pair of TDs. Messatzzia's passing game has become a key predictor of the Vikings' success: the team is 2-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-2 otherwise. Joey Keough also helped out as he racked up 189 receiving yards.

Boyertown has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. As for Perkiomen Valley, their record now sits at 3-3.
