Baseball Recap: Elkhart Takes a Loss

Elkhart was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Niles Vikings.

Elkhart saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Kelly, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Elkhart's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Niles, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 17-2.

Looking ahead, Elkhart will head out to face off against Warsaw at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 8.1 runs per game this season. As for Niles, they will welcome Portage Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The timing is sure in the Vikings' favor as the team sits on 17 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Mustangs have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
