Albemarle lost against South Stanly back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs were outmatched by the Rowdy Rebel Bulls and fell 50-13. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Bulldogs have suffered against the Rowdy Rebel Bulls since October 25, 2018.

Shoddy Pergee and Aj Butler certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Pergee rushed for 132 yards and one TD on only 15 carries, while Butler rushed for 82 yards and one touchdown. Pergee's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 132 rushing yards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Stanly to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kaleb Richardson, who threw for 178 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. The dominant performance also gave Richardson a new career-high in passer rating (157.8). Jasiah Holt was Richardson's top target, picking up 97 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

This is the second loss in a row for Albemarle and nudges their season record down to 4-6. As for South Stanly, they pushed their record up to 8-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Albemarle will host Cherokee at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bulldogs will be up against the Braves' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.11 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for South Stanly, after each having a week off, they and Christ the King will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th.
