Softball Game Preview: Titusville Rockets vs. Harbor Creek Huskies

The Titusville Rockets will head out to square off against the Harbor Creek Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Titusville took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Warren as they made off with a 21-8 win. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won three matches by 13 runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Harbor Creek entered their tilt with Fort LeBoeuf on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Bison. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Addison Lucas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Brooklynn Cipalla was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

Harbor Creek's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Titusville, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Titusville suffered a grim 17-5 defeat to Harbor Creek when the teams last played on April 1st. Can the Rockets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
