Basketball Recap: Shafter Generals vs. Delano Tigers
After flying high against Mira Monte back in December of 2024, Shafter came back down to earth. The Shafter Generals took a 56-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Delano Tigers on Tuesday. The Generals have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Shafter lost, don't look at Adin Cardenas. Despite the final result, he went 9 for 15 on his way to 24 points and five rebounds. Ian Gonzalez was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.
It was another big night for Jotham Amodo, who posted 16 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards for Delano. The dominant performance gave Amodo a new career-high in assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlos Contreras, who put up ten points and eight rebounds.
