Recap: Lake Worth Trojans vs. Leonard Lancers

The Lake Worth Trojans''s game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They took down Leonard 21-6. This was payback for Lake Worth, who suffered a 19-7 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Lake Worth got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jeff L Studdard out in front who rushed for 169 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Vaughn Braynen, who rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown.

Despite the defeat, Leonard saw an underclassman step up: Ronari Wilkins picked up 140 receiving yards and a touchdown. Wilkins' longest reception was for an incredible 80 yards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lake Worth's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Boca Raton at 6:30 p.m. on October 27th. Boca Raton presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lake Worth in Florida (Boca Raton is ranked 166th, while Lake Worth is ranked 420th). As for Leonard, they will be playing at home against Forest Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Forest Hill comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 12 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
