Marion came tearing into Monday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Midlakes Screaming Eagles a 16-0 shutout. The Black Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Screaming Eagles, too.

Marion's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Midlakes, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Marion beat the Screaming Eagles by a score of 11-0 later that day.
