Soccer Game Preview: Bellevue vs. Foster

The Bellevue Wolverines will venture away from home to face off against the Foster Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Bellevue will be strutting in after a victory while Foster will be coming in after a loss.

Bellevue's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 win over Interlake. Given Bellevue's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington soccer rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while Interlake are ranked 209th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Foster was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 4-0 to Sammamish.

Bellevue pushed their record up to 8-2-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up two goals over those six games. As for Foster, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.

Bellevue took their victory against Foster when the teams last played back in March by a conclusive 7-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolverines since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
