Basketball Recap: Tuscola Takes a Loss

If Tuscola was feeling good fresh off their 71-12 takedown of Okaw Valley last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tuscola Warriors had to suffer through a 74-40 loss at the hands of the Tri-Valley Vikings. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Vikings are ranked 163rd).

Tuscola has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Tri-Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Tuscola and Ridgeview will round out the year against one another at at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Tri-Valley, they will take on Monticello in a tournament on Thursday.
