Ramona's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Lorenzo Sims, who rushed for 82 yards and one TD, and also picked up 71 receiving yards and one score. Michael White also helped out with an impressive 82 receiving yards.
Ramona didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Silverado to a completion percentage of just 40%. The team can thank White for the heroic effort on defense: he. Sadly, that's becoming something of a trend for Ramona; they were averaging 59.8%completion percentage earlier this season, but in their last three matchups they've fallen to only 59.8%.
Ramona's defense didn't let Johnny Diaz, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for four sacks. Luis Mena IV refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 2.5 sacks all by himself. He was another major factor on D, picking up 2.5 sacks, making 12 total tackles (3.0 for loss), and defending one pass.
Meanwhile, Cerritos waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Flashes by a score of 16-7.
Most of the squad's points came courtesy of special teams, who contributed ten in total. All came from Mateo Arancibia: he went 3-for-3 kicking field goals for nine points and added another on an extra point kick.
Ramona's record now sits at 9-2. As for Cerritos, their record is now an identical 9-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Ramona has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 182.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Cerritos struggles in that department as they've been averaging 221.9 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
