Softball Recap: Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls vs. Shepherd Pirates

Anderson-Shiro lost against Shepherd last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls fell just short of the Shepherd Pirates by a score of 7-6. It was the first time this season that Anderson-Shiro let down their fans at home.

For Shepherd's part, Isabelle Hooper made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 14 batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off ten hits (and only one walk). Hooper has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Hooper was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
