Basketball Recap: Torrey Pines Falls Despite Big Games from Tyler Humphrey and Tevaris Green

If Torrey Pines was feeling good fresh off their 83-41 takedown of El Camino on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Falcons fell just short of the Centennial Huskies by a score of 60-58 on Monday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Huskies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2021.

Torrey Pines' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Tevaris Green, who shot 56% from the field en route to 23 points, and Tyler Humphrey, who went 8-for-13 on his way to 21 points and seven rebounds. Green's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Chase Rogowski, who posted six points and eight boards.

Torrey Pines now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Centennial, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Coming up, Torrey Pines will face off against San Marcos at 7:00 p.m. on December 3. As for Centennial, they will challenge Pope John Paul II at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
