Basketball Recap: Sussex Tech Comes Up Short

After flying high against Sussex Central last Tuesday, Sussex Tech came back down to earth. The Sussex Tech Ravens took a 33-22 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Polytech Panthers on Thursday. The matchup marked the Ravens' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Polytech's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Saniya Skinner, who posted ten points and seven steals. With that strong performance, Skinner is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game. Marie Cadet was another key player, putting up four points in addition to 14 rebounds and three steals.

Sussex Tech now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Polytech, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Sussex Tech will face off against Dover at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. Sussex Tech is facing Dover at the right time seeing as Dover is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Polytech, they will challenge St. Mark's at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
