Baseball Recap: Southeastern Local Trojans vs. Greenon Knights

Southeastern Local extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to nine on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 0-8 in the process. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenon Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Monday.

Hayden Davis stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one run. Kyle Adkins also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As for Greenon, their victory ended an 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-7. The game was the first time they have beaten Southeastern Local on their field since April 27, 2023.

On Greenon's side, Grayson Meizler was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Ethan Rychnovsky was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Coming up, Southeastern Local will be playing in front of their home fans against Cedarville at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Greenon, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 11-1 defeat against Mechanicsburg on the 16th.
