Preview: Timpanogos Timberwolves vs. Cedar Valley Aviators
Timpanogos has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Cedar Valley Aviators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Timpanogos focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, Timpanogos faced Bountiful in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Timpanogos secured a 54-48 W over Bountiful. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Timpanogos has scored all year.
Timpanogos got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jaxen Mccuistion out in front who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. The contest was Mccuistion's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jack Johnson, who scored 15 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, Cedar Valley's 18-6 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 53-52 to Mountain View. Cedar Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Timpanogos' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Cedar Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
Timpanogos took their victory against Cedar Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2019 by a conclusive 64-40. The rematch might be a little tougher for Timpanogos since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
