While Branham's victory against Evergreen Valley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bruins sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Cougars on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Bruins sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Branham took Evergreen Valley into a fifth set where they got it done with a four-point win. The final score came out to 25-15, 26-24, 19-25, 23-25, 15-11.

Branham's offense was headlined by Gunjan Joshi and Brianna Gassmann, who picked up ten kills apiece. They got some help from Evie Park and her 23 assists. Joshi and Park didn't slow down when it came to serving: they led the team with three apiece.

Branham now has a winning record of 16-15. As for Evergreen Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 17-13 record this season.

Branham and Evergreen Valley could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Bruins will square off against Carlmont at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank disadvantage (365 vs. 136). Meanwhile, Evergreen Valley (ranked 419th) will meet Cupertino (ranked 159th) at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
