Softball Recap: Monday's Win Is Providence Catholic's Seventh in Last Eight Outings

With a playoff win on the line, Providence Catholic rose to the challenge on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 victory over the Pontiac Indians. That's two games straight that the Celtics have won by just one run.

Providence Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Pontiac, they moved to 26-10 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Providence Catholic nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
