Lemmon came tearing into Thursday's matchup with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Newell Irrigators. That's more bragging rights for the Cowboys, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Lemmon had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 24-26, 25-17, 25-11, 25-14.

Lemmon's victory bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Newell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lemmon will head out to square off against Ipswich on Saturday. As for Newell, they will take on Edgemont at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
