Edinburg had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.1 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Tuesday. They blew past the Economedes Jaguars 64-35. The Bobcats pushed the score to 62-35 by the end of the third, a deficit the Jaguars had little chance of recovering from.

Axel Navarro was his usual excellent self, going 6 of 8 en route to 19 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Edgar Perales, who posted eight points in addition to seven steals and six boards.

Edinburg was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Economedes only racked up seven assists.

Economedes lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Aniel Solis, who earned nine points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Nathaniel De La Garza, who had seven points.

Edinburg's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Economedes, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 15-15 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Edinburg Bobcats challenge the Weslaco Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Weslaco is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.2 points per game this season. As for Economedes, they will face off against La Joya at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
