Preview: Bel Air Highlanders vs. Horizon Scorpions
Bel Air is 10-0 against the Scorpions since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Bel Air Highlanders will head out on the road to face off against the Horizon Scorpions at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Bel Air focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
In what's become a running theme this season, Bel Air gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They claimed a resounding 55-19 victory over Ysleta at home. The win was just what Bel Air needed coming off of a 65-39 defeat in their prior match.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bel Air to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alyssa Saldana, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Adalyn Palomo, who scored 15 points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Horizon's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their 14th straight loss. They were dealt a 54-25 loss at the hands of Ysleta. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Horizon in their matchups with the Indians: they've now lost seven in a row.
Bel Air's win bumped their record up to 21-4. As for Horizon, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost 17 of their last 18 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-22 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Bel Air against the Scorpions in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 50-23 victory. With Bel Air ahead 39-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
