Recap: Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines vs. Irwin County Indians
The Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines extended their postseason success on Friday against the Irwin County Indians. They took their contest on the road with ease, bagging a 41-7 victory over the Indians. The result was nothing new for Prince Avenue Christian, who have now won 11 contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Leading Prince Avenue Christian to victory were Connor Causby and Aaron Philo. Causby picked up 201 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Philo threw for 448 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 10.7 yards per attempt. Hudson Hill did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 74 receiving yards.
Despite the loss, Irwin County still got an impressive performance from Jaken Thomas, who gained 106 total yards and a touchdown. Thomas was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 67 yards.
The win (which was Prince Avenue Christian's sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-1. As for Irwin County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-6.
Prince Avenue Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Bryan County at 7:00 p.m. on December 1st. The pair have allowed few points on average, (Bryan County: 9.1, Prince Avenue Christian: 15.2) so any points scored will be well earned. Irwin County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
