Baseball Recap: Beverly Hills Takes a Loss

Beverly Hills made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Leuzinger, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Normans fell just short of the Olympians by a score of 4-2 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Normans in their meetings with the Olympians: they've now lost six in a row.

Beverly Hills got a good showing from Johnathan Olsen, who tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Olsen gave up only zero walks, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Race Findley made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one RBI. Beverly Hills is 3-1 when Findley posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-10-1 otherwise.

Beverly Hills' loss dropped their record down to 7-11-1. As for Leuzinger, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Looking ahead, Beverly Hills will welcome Centennial at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Normans are facing the Apaches at the right time seeing as the Apaches are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Leuzinger, they will venture away from home to challenge Hawthorne at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.05 runs per game on average), something the Olympians will no doubt try to take advantage of.
