Basketball Recap: McCluer Comes Up Short

McCluer was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 23rd straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Kirkwood Pioneers and fell 82-33. While losing is never fun, the Comets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 449th, while the Pioneers are ranked 186th).

McCluer's loss dropped their record down to 0-22. As for Kirkwood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McCluer will square off against St. Louis University at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kirkwood, they will face off against Parkway South at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Parkway South's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 games.
